Good day to you! I certainly hope something good has happened or will happen in your life today. Sometimes one good thing is all we need to lift our spirits up.
As for our weather, we're going to be enjoying more calm, cooler and dry conditions over the next seven days. We will have to go through a period of showers and thunderstorms from around Thursday afternoon into Friday, but this Wednesday, the weekend, and early next week are looking sweet at the moment. Let's jump into the details!
For Wednesday, high pressure will be sliding southeastward into the southern Vermont region, providing us with mostly sunny skies after some early morning patchy fog. Highs should reach well into the mid-70s, as drier air works into the region. Lows should dip into the upper-50s as clouds increase ahead of a cold front that will be approaching from our northwest.
For Thursday, said cold front will be sweeping into the region, and will allow for some scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop. Some storms may be strong with gusty winds and torrential rain. Highs will again reach into the mid-70s. By Thursday night, a surface low may be developing along the sweeping cold front, and push more shower activity into southern Vermont. Lows will be in the low-60s.
For Friday, we will have to deal with an upper level low pressure system that will ride east just behind the departing cold front and surface low. This will ensure some atmospheric instability aloft, which means that rising air will generate some more scattered showers. Expect a mostly cloudy day with sunny breaks possible late. Highs will be in the mid-70s and lows in the upper-50s.
The weekend looks amazing with mostly sunny skies, drier air and highs in the mid-70s. Lows will be in the 50s. These conditions should continue into early next week. However, as high pressure scoots east of us, we will start to warm back into the low-80s by Tuesday. With increasing humidity, some showers will be possible. Have a great week!
