TOWNSHEND — The Leland & Gray Players' last show of their 21st season is Mac Wellman's Dracula.
The show is an “adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel that preserves the Victorian tendencies of his writing while veering wildly into new vampire territory …. Wickedly clever language and an often nightmarish world combine to create a Dracula unlike [any] seen before,” according to playscripts.com.
In a news release, Director and Producer Annie Landenberger adds, “The characters are outrageous; the humor is ample and dark; and the student-created production design and incidental music will round out an exciting evening.“
The production features junior Kenneth Cashman as Count Dracula, junior Anastasia Stevens as Mina Harker; sophomore Gabrel Vanni-Phillips as Jonathan Harker; junior Adam Culver as Dr. Jack Seward; freshman Veronica Stevens as Lucy Westenra; sophomore Sam Thibault as Professor Van Helsing; Luke Parker-Jennings, grade 8, as Simmons; Peter Broussard, grade 7, as Quincy Morris and the Coachman.

Incidental music has been composed for this production by Trevor Wood. Rebekah Winot is assistant director; sophomore Fairen Stark is production designer over-seeing scenic elements, costumes, and props.
