Brattleboro Brewers Festival celebrates its sixth year

BRATTLEBORO — The sixth annual Vermont Brewers Festival is on Saturday, May 27, from noon to 4 p.m., on the grounds of the Vermont Agricultural Business Education Center at 40 University Way.

Free parking is provided at Brattleboro Union High School, with shuttle buses to and from the festival. There is no parking on the Festival Property (exception for a few handicap spots). This is a 21-and-older event, and no children or pets are allowed.

Tickets are $30 online or $35 at the door. Tickets include entrance into the festival, entrance into raffle prizes provided by all of beer and cider vendors, live music, and eight samplings of your choice. Designated drivers are admitted for a $5 charge. Tickets are still available at www.brattleborobrewersfestival.com.

This year's festival features about 100 varieties of microbrews and ciders. Each participating brewery and cidery is bringing two to three choices to showcase.

Brattleboro Brewfest committee member Dan Oles said the festival has a great lineup this year.

“Some new additions, such as Jack's Abbey, will be bringing a 'brewery only' beer and Lord Hobo is coming, famous for their 'Boomsauce,' as well as Amherst Brewing, who is going to bring a limited edition or two for folks to try. That's just naming a few,” Oles said in a news release.

There is always an element of fundraising at the Brattleboro Brewer's Festival and this year the committee chose to help fund Tito Garza's mission to own his own food cart for Tito's Taqueria (titosvt.com/home).

The festival has added games to help with these efforts, such as Faith Ford's Keg Toss, plus other games just for enjoyment such as Corn Hole and Yard Yahtzee.
