WARDSBORO — The next Wardsboro Curtain Call event is the dance party with The Wyld Nightz Band on Friday, May 19. Admission is $10 at the door; this includes a pasta supper, so doors will open at 6 p.m. Music begins at 7 p.m. at Wardsboro Town Hall on Main Street.
The Wyld Nightz Band is a Brattleboro favorite, formed more than 10 years ago. Founding members Michael McKinney (guitar, trumpet, vocals) and Jeff Brewer (guitar, vocals) work to emphasize dance music with exciting ensemble playing.
Fred “Freighttrain” Epstein (drums) and Matt Martyn (bass guitar) anchor the rhythm section, while keyboard duties and vocals are covered by Tony Speranza. Anthony Speranza Jr. appears regularly on alto and tenor saxophones.
Upcoming shows in the 2017 Wardsboro Curtain Call music series include Mister Dix (rock, funk/fusion, alt-country) on June 17; Nashville singer-songwriter David Olney, with Daniel Seymour, on July 22 (local favorites Hungrytown will open); contemporary folk duo Neptune's Car on Sept. 16; and blues musician and historian Scott Ainslie on Oct. 13.
