BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Safe Streets Project, in collaboration with the Town of Brattleboro, will host the second annual Safer Streets Forum on Thursday, May 11, at the Green Street School Library from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This is an opportunity for anyone interested in bicycle and pedestrian safety issues to hear from town officials about the improvements that have been made in town during the past year and projects that are planned for the years ahead.
Brattleboro Town Manager Peter Elwell will open and wrap up the forum. Hannah Tyler and Steve Barrett of the Department of Public Works will present information about projects completed and those in the planning stages. Also expected to attend are Police Chief Mike Fitzgerald and Planning Director Rod Francis.
There will be ample time for the audience to ask questions and voice concerns.
“Last year, we had a good turnout for our first Safer Streets Forum,” said Kathleen White, co-Chair of the Safe Streets Project, in a news release. “A wealth of important and interesting information was presented, followed by great questions and discussion. I think everyone, town staff and residents alike, left feeling better informed about bicycle and pedestrian issues. We're hoping for another informative and well-attended event this year”
A light supper will be provided. All are welcome. For more information, contact White at [email protected] or [email protected].
