Good day, I'm wishing good moments for you on the day that you read this. All we've ever got is the moment we find ourselves in, so hopefully you find yourself in at least one good moment today. Sometimes that can make all the difference.
As for the weather of southern Vermont, we are going to be warming this weekend, and will likely have unsettled conditions from Sunday into early next week. The forecast is highly uncertain at the moment, but I'll do my best to outline the salient points.
For Wednesday, a storm system will be pushing north towards The Benchmark, which is a point located about 80 miles south of Nantucket, at 40 degrees North, and 70 degrees West. This system will foster the production of more scattered showers, especially during the first half of the day.
We should see some drying as we move into the afternoon and overnight hours. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Temperatures won't fall too much Wednesday night with lows in the 40s and light winds.
For Thursday, the drying process will continue as a brief ridge of high pressure moves into the region. We may see some sunny breaks, but it should be a mostly cloudy day, although it will be warmer. Low pressure will be approaching the western Great Lakes, fostering a southwest flow that will drive high temps well into the 60s, and lows in the mid 50s.
For the Thursday night into Friday timeframe, a cold front attached to the Great Lakes storm will be approaching the region. What this front will do over the weekend and even into next week is highly uncertain.
For now, it appears that we could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms late Thursday night and through Friday when highs are expected to crest into the low to mid 70s. Lows will dip into the 50s.
Thereafter, the front is expected to meander around the region, acting as a focus for lift and scattered showers. Therefore, from Saturday into early next week, we can expect unsettled weather with scattered showers at times.
It will be warm with highs on Saturday well into the 70s. From Sunday into early next week, highs should range between 65-70 degrees.
Have a great week!
