Mostly fair and seasonable weather will reign over Windham County

Good day to you! While we have a couple of chances for showers and thunderstorms this week, we can expect mainly pedestrian weather and a return to more seasonable temperatures by early this coming week.

For Wednesday, some scattered morning showers are certainly possible, and they could last into the afternoon as a cold front approaches the region. An isolated thunderstorm can't be ruled out, either.

We should start to see some clearing and sunny breaks in the afternoon as the front continues through the region to our east. Highs should reach into the low 60s and lows should drop into the 30s with a relatively light west wind.

For Thursday, cooler air advects into the region on northwest winds gusting to 25 mph at times. Highs will only reach the mid 50s, and probably stay near 50 degrees in the high terrain in western portions of the county. Lows should sit down into the low to mid 30s.

For Friday and Saturday, we'll continue to enjoy sunny weather with high pressure building over the region, which will ultimately head east of the region by Saturday night. Highs on Friday will again be in the mid 50s with lows in the 30s. On Saturday, we should warm towards 60 degrees as clouds increase late in the day.

Saturday night into Sunday night should be the only inclement period of weather over the next seven days, as another pair of frontal boundaries will move through the region.

A warm front will extend towards southern Vermont Saturday night, and some showers should break out ahead of it. Lows Saturday night should drop into the mid 40s.

On Sunday, a cold front will be approaching, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected. At this point, any thunderstorms that form do not look severe, though some gusty winds are possible.

Highs should crest near 70 degrees as what appears to be one last warm surge moves through. A cooler but seasonable period should follow into early next week when highs should sit back down in the 50s with fair weather.

Have a great week!
