He was extremely proud of both of his children and instilled many valuable traits in them, especially his extraordinary work ethic. His life was focused around his family. He enjoyed puttering around the house, camping when the kids were younger, working in his vegetable garden, cutting bushes (which he said was a never ending job) and, most importantly, he enjoyed talking with family and friends about current events, family genealogy, and local happenings.
