BRATTLEBORO — The New England Center for Circus Arts' top young students will perform in “CircusNEXT: Once Upon a Time,” on Sunday, April 9, at noon and 4 p.m., at the former Austine School Gym on Austine Drive.
When an evil spell brings sadness to their child, the King and Queen will go to any lengths to find someone who can help - and offer great rewards to the winner. The Intermediate and Advanced Troupes will flip, fly, juggle, and tumble as they attempt to inspire laughter and joy in the royal child's heart, according to a news release.
Members of the NECCA's Youth Performance Troupe share their talents in trapeze, acrobatics, tumbling, unicycling, Chinese pole, and more presented by youth between the ages of 7 and 18. Students come from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont to train with elite coaches in circus arts through demanding skills, rigorous strength and flexibility training, and act creation.
Previous students have gone on to professional careers and several current students are performers in the much-loved Circus Smirkus summer touring show.
