Good day to you, my friends. I hope everyone dug out safely after our major nor'easter blew through the region yesterday. Luckily for lovers of spring, we should be reaching above freezing this weekend, though some snow still remains in the forecast for Saturday and possibly Sunday, too.
For Wednesday, we could still see periods of light accumulating snows throughout the day and evening in parts of the county, especially in western sections. The surface low that blew through on Tuesday is gone, but the upper low that guided that storm up the coast and into southern VT still needs to work north and east through the area. Precipitation tends to be more disorganized with these upper systems, so expect periods of snow at times with an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow possible in the southern Green Mountains, with scattered snow showers elsewhere. Highs will be low to mid 20s with lows in the low teens.
For Thursday, a high pressure system starts to approach, and between it and our departing low pressure systems, we should see a breezy and cold day with wind gusts over 20 mph at times, and wind chills down in the high single digits the way it looks now. Expect highs again in the mid 20s under partly sunny skies, and lows in the high single digits.
For Friday, we warm a bit more, with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s and more sunshine as high pressure crests overhead. Lows will dip into the teens at night.
Over the weekend, an Alberta Clipper system will be sliding east and should bring some more periods of light snow, with some light accumulations possible and highs in the mid 30s.
We may even reach 40 degrees by early next week with clearing skies moving into the region. Have a great week!
