State Police plan increased enforcement for holidays
WESTMINSTER - Vermont State Police from the Westminster barracks, in conjunction with local and county law enforcement agencies, will be conducting sobriety and safety enforcement operations in Windham and Windsor counties as part of the 2016 Holiday DUI Campaign.
As of Nov. 30, Vermont has experienced 62 fatalities from crashes. State police say the scheduled enforcement is an opportunity to use high visibility enforcement to reduce the number of traffic fatalities and crashes around the state.
In addition to sobriety checkpoints, state police say they will be aggressively patrolling and enforcing motor vehicle laws with specific regard to impaired, distracted/aggressive driving, speeding, and seat belt usage in high crash areas.
