BRATTLEBORO — I wish to be.... I wish to go.... I wish to meet.... I wish to have....
These are the general categories into which wishes fall for Make-A-Wish kids. These kids have faced challenges that no kid should ever face.
But during their Wish, there are no challenges - only fun, laughs, family, friends, and excitement.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont grants the wishes of Vermont kids with life-threatening medical conditions. We are proud to say that no eligible wish is denied, and we pay all costs associated with a wish. All funds raised in Vermont go to granting Vermont wishes.
On Sept. 30 at the Brattleboro Country Club, close to 100 people gathered to help grant these wishes. They purchased raffle tickets, they bid on auction items, and they heard the story of one family's Wish experience - a testimony to the power of a wish.
The Evening of Wishes committee (Carole Rayl, Wendy Rembisz, Barb Henry, Lisa Johnson, Gina Pattison, Karen Henry, Pattie McNamara, and Barb Harris) thank the numerous businesses and individuals for their support in making this evening a huge success.
Our special and heartfelt thanks to the Willette family - Carson, Preston, Sarah, and Travis - for sharing their evening and their wish experience. Their story reminded us why we all support Make-A-Wish.
Because of the generosity we saw, another Vermont Wish will be granted.
