DOVER — Independent television is growing and opportunities abound for content creators who have the right idea at the right time.
Beginning Oct. 5 and running through Oct. 9, content creators from across the globe will gather for ITVFest, the original Independent Television and Film Festival.
Close to 500 submissions were received for this year's festival, and nearly 100 independent TV pilots, web series, and short films will be screened in conjunction with five days of panel discussions and workshops. Some of the topics covered will include:
• A interactive casting seminar with “House of Cards” Casting Director Erika Arvold.
• Showrunner panel with Randy Zisk (“Bones,” “Monk,” “Gideon's Crossing,” and “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”) and Michael Rosenberg (“Hung,” “Hell on Wheels,” “Klondike,” “Call Me Fitz,” “Rogue,” and “Skins.”)
• Big-budget filmmaking with Bobby Farrelly and Kris Meyer, moderated by Dana Kuznetzkoff.
• Keynotes from Amy Richards, the executive producer of the “Woman” series on Viceland and actress Tamara Tunie.
• A panel on the purpose of storytelling with United Nations Senior Video Producer Priyanka Pruthi and “Watch What Happens Live” Executive Producer Caissie St. Onge.
• Financing with Vinca Jarrett and Kirsty Bell of Goldfinch Entertainment.
