Groundworks thanks musicians who volunteered for fundraiser

BRATTLEBORO — On behalf of the staff, board, residents, and clients of Groundworks Collaborative, I extend our abundant thanks to the members of House Blend, Singcrony Trio, and Big Woods Voices - three local a cappella groups who generously donated their time and talents to benefit our work.

On April 16, these three groups performed the Gimme Shelter concert before an audience at the Hooker Dunham Theater. Last year, the Singcrony Quartet put together the first Gimme Shelter concert to support the Seasonal Overflow Shelter at the First Baptist Church, one of our programs. This year's concert raised $500 to support our housing programs - funds that will help us to provide supportive services to currently and formerly homeless families and individuals.

Groundworks Collaborative is the organization created from the recent merger of Morningside Shelter and the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center. The newly merged organization continues to provide all of the services offered by each of the former agencies, including the operation of our region's largest and busiest food shelf, and our area's shelters for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Groundworks' mission is to provide safe spaces and ongoing support to families and individuals facing a full continuum of food and housing insecurities. We envision a community in which everyone has a safe and dignified place to call home.

Our thanks and gratitude go out to all of the performers and audience members who donated in support of our mission.
