One-man show depicts God in moments before big bang

Hooker-Dunham to host accomplished clown Rich Potter

BRATTLEBORO — Reprising his role as the creator of everything that ever is, was, or will be, Rich Potter will present “God: The One-Man Show” April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in downtown Brattleboro. According to a news release, the show reveals Potter's take on what “Our Supreme Being” was doing in the moments before the big bang.

The show has garnered strong reviews, including a nod from the DC Metro Theater Arts calling it “a comedic hurricane.”

According to the news release, Potter hopes one day to get endorsements from both the Pope and Richard Dawkins. As co-producer of Washington D.C.'s Clown Cabaret, Potter co-wrote and performed in the Shakespearean sendup, “Delusions of Grandeur” (2012), and the silent film noir comedy, “The Heist” (2016).

Potter performed for three years as a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus clown, and logged decades of variety/comedy/juggling acts at festivals and in corporate settings in dozens of countries, The Kennedy Center, at the Vice Presidential Mansion, and on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

“Now” according to the release, “he thinks he's God.”
