BELLOWS FALLS — Wear green and attend the 11th annual St. Patrick's Fiddle Frenzy on Friday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m., when Stone Church Arts celebrates St. Patrick's Day at the stone Church on the hill, Immanuel Episcopal Church, 20 Church St.
On tap is music from Celtic countries and the regions inspired to carry on the musical traditions.
This year, they feature Vermont's own Pete's Posse. The show will be opened by fiddler Sarah Blair and guitarist Flynn Cohen.
Pete's Posse is twin fiddles in tight, wild harmony over high-powered guitar and pounding footwork with mandolin, clawhammer banjo, jawharp, and rocking keyboards adding their voices to the mix. Old songs and tunes, lyrical and driving, alongside brand new ones.
Sarah Blair began playing Irish music in Rhode Island's thriving traditional music community and honed her playing as a sought-after session leader in Boston and in the world of American contra dancing.
Acoustic Guitarist Flynn Cohen has performed all over the world with many notable acts in traditional and contemporary acoustic music. He can be seen in concert with the American folk band Low Lily and Irish accordion player John Whelan.
The multi-instrumentalist and troubadour Pete Sutherland has decades of concert touring, teaching, and studio production behind him. His all-Vermont “posse” includes his talented young fiddle protégé Oliver Scanlon and accompanist Tristan Henderson, also of Atlantic Crossing and Pipers Den.
