DUMMERSTON — If you have enjoyed VTC's productions of Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor or Moon Over Buffalo, you won't want to miss Shakespeare in Hollywood - it's another zany Ludwig performance, a wacky slapstick comedy.
The scene is 1930s Hollywood on the set of a big-budget Warner Brothers' film version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. When Oberon and Puck magically appear, they are, in Ludwig's words, “Instantly smitten by the glitz and glamour of show biz and are ushered onto the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves. Blonde bombshells, movie moguls, and arrogant 'asses' are tossed into loopy love triangles with raucous results.”
VTC's production of Shakespeare in Hollywood, directed by Brandon Batham, features Colin Grube as Oberon, Tracy Murphy as Puck, Jim Bombicino as Jack Warner, and Robert Wellington as Max Reinhardt.
Other members of the cast are John Orgozalek, Ezlerh Oreste, Bridget McBride, Nichole Bliznak, Veda Crewe, Ryan Buck, Samuel Murphy, and Chrispey Perkins.
