BELLOWS FALLS — Stone Church Arts brings the solo violin concert performance of Francesca Anderegg to the stone church on the hill, 20 Church St., Bellows Falls, on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
Anderegg's program includes works by J.S. Bach, Harbison, Ysaye, and Kreisler.
Hailed by The New York Times for her “rich tone” and “virtuosic panache,” Anderegg delivers insightful accounts of contemporary and classical music. Through her inventive programming, active composer collaborations, and precise yet impassioned interpretations, Anderegg has earned renown as a musical explorer of the first order.
As a recitalist, Anderegg has amplified her interest in diverse musical traditions through the creation of concert programs with deep cultural and narrative threads.
Anderegg's performances of contemporary music have led to collaborations with some of today's most prominent composers. She holds degrees from Harvard and Juilliard; her teachers include Robert Mann, Nicholas Mann, Ronald Copes, Naoko Tanaka, Lynn Chang, and Betty-Jean Hagen.
She was awarded the Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Performing Arts in 2010. Anderegg's debut album, recorded with regular duo partner, pianist Brent Funderburk, was released by Albany Records in July 2012.
