Fall Into Art benefits Windham Child Care Association

BRATTLEBORO — Windham Child Care Association (WCCA) invites you to its fourth annual benefit, Fall Into Art, at All Souls Church in West Brattleboro on Friday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A fun-filled evening is planned, including a performance by Jazzberry Jam; catered fare by Vermont Country Deli; a cash bar by Windham Wines; caricatures by John Steven Gurney; children's art activities; and a one-of-a-kind art show featuring 60 local adult artists and 40 child artists.

The artwork on display, part of a silent auction, includes photography, blown glass, pottery, fabric arts, handmade furniture, watercolors, and jewelry.

For photographs of the art to be auctioned, visit WCCA's homepage or Facebook page. Part of the show will be on display at the gallery in All Souls Church beginning Friday, Oct. 10.

This year, the auction includes gift cards to more than a dozen local stores and restaurants.

Moreover, Windham Child Care Association will present its Award for Exemplary Service in Early Childhood Education to educator Kim Jillson, who retired this year after 22 years of teaching at Brattleboro Nursery School.

Funds raised from the event will help WCCA improve the lives of young children and their families in Windham County. WCCA's work includes child care referral and financial assistance programs, professional development and career counseling for early childhood educators, the Farm to Preschool program, and the Early Learning Express bookmobile program.
