DUMMERSTON — “Don't Drink the Water,” which some Woody Allen fans say is his zaniest comedy, follows an American family on vacation in an unnamed European country behind the Iron Curtain. The family take refuge in the nearby U.S. embassy, and a farce ensues.
The 1969 movie, starring Jackie Gleason and directed by Howard Morris, was based on Allen's 1966 Broadway play of the same name.
Vermont Theater Company invites you to Evening Star Grange to enjoy Marilyn Tullgren's local production. In advance copy, Tullgren says that she is “delighted to direct this play because it is flawlessly ridiculous: a precious gem of American Comic Theater.”
The cast is listed as Bruce Hollaway, John Ogorzalek, Francis Hauert, Ran3dy Bright, Nancy Stephens, Mark Tullgren, Michelle Ross, Dan Bennett, Adam Moorman, Ian Hefele, Jim Bombicino, Nora Bright, Brenda Seitz, and Mike Jerald.
