BELLOWS FALLS — The Bellows Falls Farmers' Market has hired a new Market Manager.
Lisa Luciani brings more than 20 years of marketing communications experience, plus an appreciation for working farm families and a keen awareness of the challenges facing beginning farmers, to her new position. She is also the communications coordinator at Land For Good, a local nonprofit working to put more farmers on land and more land into farming.
The Bellows Falls Farmers' Market is a producers market that operates every Friday from May through October from 4 to 7 p.m. The market opens for the 2014 season on May 16.
“I enjoy working with farm families and believe in promoting the importance of local farms,” Luciani said. “Plans are underway to revitalize the market this year. It's going to be a great season.”
With additional local vendors and entertainment, and by creating an atmosphere that brings the community together, the market's goal is to pack each Friday full of programs to draw more people.
Local farmers, bakers, crafters and artisans showcase their products at the market. There's still time to become a member for the season or join as a day vendor. For more information, visit bffarmersmarket.org.
