Preparations for the 2014 season has begun at the Actors Theatre Playhouse in West Chesterfield, N.H. A wide variety of dramas, comedies, and musical events creating ATP's 39th season is taking shape.
You might be able to lend a hand, or know someone who can: The search is on for production/stage managers, box office help, and a variety of other volunteers who'll make it all possible.
Stage managers and box/house manager volunteers are sought for the season opener (yet to be determined) for mid-June through mid-July, 2014; a workshop musical by Zeke Hecker in late July; a musical cabaret directed by Mark Tullgren in early August; Michael Frayn's “Copenhagen,” directed by Burt Tepfer, in September; and the Ten Minute Play Festival in October.
Do you have some skills or a little time to help move the playhouse season along? Whether you're fully qualified or simply want to learn something new, ATP says it can use the help, and is ready and willing to train.
ATP volunteer opportunities include production (directors, actors, stage managers and assistant stage managers, and rehearsal assistants); technical design (designers and technicians, and assistants for lights, sets, costumes, props, and sound); and performance nights (box office and house managers).
Help also is needed with development/fundraising and office administration, writing press releases, production photography and videography, and poster distribution.
Internet-savvy folks are needed for outreach, and ATP could use help maintaining its building and gardens.
