WILMINGTON — The Town of Wilmington has one open seat for justice of the peace, and is seeking candidates to apply to fill the term ending Feb. 1, 2015.
The duties of Vermont's justices of the peace are many and varied: from serving as election officials to determining tax appeals and tax abatements to giving oaths to solemnizing civil marriages.
The town clerk will send candidates' information to the governor, who will then appoint someone to fill this open seat.
Any town resident interested in serving should contact the town clerk's office at [email protected] or 802-464-5836.
