BRATTLEBORO — The Windham Child Care Association is adding hours and flexibility to its child care program.
Sprouts Early Learning Cooperative/Evening Care is opening a full-day preschool program for children ages 3-5 beginning July 29. Hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Parents can choose a full- or part-time program.
According to WCCA Executive Director Elizabeth Raposa in a program announcement, many local families have benefitted from Evening Care's non-traditional hours. Three years after taking the program on, she said, “We can now offer even more flexibility with this expansion. It felt like the right time for the community and for our organization.”
Sprouts already offers a daytime preschool program (8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), an evening preschool program (2:30 to 6 p.m.), and an infant and toddler program (Monday to Friday, 2 to 9 p.m.).
Raposa said parents may enroll their children in either preschool option or choose other available part-time or full-time slots depending on what best meets their needs.
Sprouts Early Learning Cooperative boasts that it offers a high-quality, developmentally appropriate, child-centered early learning experience. The child care program recently attained the 4 STARs level in Vermont's child-care quality rating system.
Teachers are selected on the basis of their qualifications in accordance with regulations set by the state of Vermont. Staff members engage in ongoing professional development to increase their knowledge, skill level, and ability to work with a wide range of learning styles.
