Weddings
• In Williamsville on March 17, 2013, Emily Joy Bos-Lun and George Guy Dutton were joined in marriage at the Thosum Gephelling Insitute. The bride is the daughter of Michelle and Ronald Bos-Lun of Westminster; granddaughter to Carla and Earl Bossard of Davis, Calif., and Joyce and the late Ernest Lundy of Lock Haven, Pa. She is also great-grandaughter to Rosalie Radtke of Franklin, Wis. The groom is the son of Wendy and Paul Dutton of Brookline; grandson to Betty and Arthur Wellman of Brookline; and grandson to Ida and the late Herbert Dutton, of Windham. The couple are employed at the Dutton Berry Farm/Dutton Farm Stand and make their home in Windham. The wedding ceremony was performed by Tyrus Lundy of Mill Hall, Pa., cousin to the bride.
Transitions
• Jeffrey J. Morse, president and chief executive officer of River Valley Credit Union, has been elected to serve as the new Chair of the Brattleboro Retreat's Board of Trustees. He has served on the Retreat's board since 2009, and is past chair of the Finance Committee. His tenure as Board Chair will run through 2016. In addition to serving on the Retreat board, Morse is a board member of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of the Association of Vermont Credit Unions.
The Retreat trustees has also welcomed Elizabeth Catlin as its newest member. Catlin founded Bluestone Wealth Management in Keene, N.H., in 2005 where she works as an investment advisor. A graduate of Harvard and Duke Law School, she first came to Brattleboro to work for the Honorable James L. Oakes in 1995.

• Charles A. “Chuck” Anderson Jr., 56, of Dummerston. Died March 14 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., from complications of leukemia. Husband of Jean Letterio for nearly 10 years. Former husband of Victoria Winterstein. Father of Jaime Behmke of Enfield, Conn., Stacy Anderson of Beacon Falls, Conn., and Cory Anderson of Beacon Falls, Conn. Brother of Donald Anderson of Camp Hill, Pa. Born in Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., the son of Anne and the late Charles A. Anderson. He was raised and educated on Long Island and had later attended Fairfield University. He had been employed as an industrial engineer with United Technologies and, previously, for Sikorsky Aircraft Corp, both in Connecticut. He retired in 2002 due to a health-related disability and moved to Vermont, living in Ascutney and then Dummerston. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football. • Allen “Tink” E. Grimes, 75, of Chesterfield, N.H. Died March 17 at his home. Husband of Marion E. (Clark) Grimes for 54 years. Father of Pamela Bergeron and her husband, Russell, of Chesterfield. Brother of Alice Dembeck of Northfield, Mass., Jerry Grimes of Mississippi, George Grimes of Chesterfield, and the late Alfred, Ralph, and Frank Grimes. Born in West Chesterfield, the third of seven children to the late Rose (Collis) and Earl Grimes, he attended Chesterfield Elementary School and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1955. He retired from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation in 2004. Previously, he had worked a number of years at the St. Johnsbury Trucking Company in Bellows Falls. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent as much time as possible hunting and fishing with his buddies. He was eager to help his family and friends with their various projects. He was always full of great advice and tips in exchange for a “cold one.” In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, building in his wood shop, and maintaining all his toys. • Stephen J. Jacobson, 69, of Spofford, N.H. Died March 19 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of Victoria Petersen for nearly 19 years. Former husband of Susan Holland for 15 years. Father of Stephen Jacobson and his wife, Lisa, of Langhorne, Pa., Christopher Jacobson and his wife, Adrienne, of Ft. Collins, Colo., Kyle Colvin of Casper, Wyo., Jennifer Jacobson of Denver, Vanessa Porterfield of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and the late Sean C. Jacobson. Brother of Bill Lancieri of Farmingville, N.Y., Jackie Erickson of Staten Island, N.Y., Grace Zurcher of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Donna Caixeiro of Valhalla, N.Y., Evelyn Cappolo of Farmingville, and Ellen Vitello of Mahopac, N.Y. Born in Memphis, Tenn., he grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., the oldest of seven children of William and Evelyn (Bauer) Lancieri. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1962, then enlisted into the Marine Corps later that year. He served as a rescue helicopter pilot during the Vietnam conflict until his honorable discharge in November 1965. He went on to get his degree in Finance and Economics from Hofstra University. His great passion for learning allowed him to move into several industries. At each company he was employed, he not only embraced the challenge and people but also made many lifelong friends. After retiring from New Chapter in Brattleboro in 2005, he worked part-time as a consultant, assisting small business owners with profitability and growth. An avid runner, Steve ran several marathons. An enjoyable evening included a glass of wine, good music and conversation. Favorite activities included world travel, sailing, driving sports cars, watching football (especially the New York Giants), annual fantasy football battles with relatives and good friends, and attempting to play golf. His compassion was his greatest talent and gift, mentoring people to expand their knowledge. He attended the Monadnock Covenant Church in Keene. • Joyce Elaine Sheehan, 87, of Brattleboro. Died March 16 at Holton Home after suffering a stroke. Wife of Wilfred Sheehan for 43 years, and the late Kenneth E. Shepard for 21 years. Mother of Judith Jacobson and her husband, John, of West Barnstable, Mass.; Jane Howe and her husband, Avery, of Tunbridge; Sylvia Cooley and her husband, Daniel, of Amherst, Mass.; and Sharon Sault and her husband, James, of Randolph. Sister of Sheldon Gray and his wife, Elinor, of Brookfield, and Raymond Gray and his wife, Nancy, of Braintree. Born in Brookfield, the daughter of John and Ruby (Blanchard) Gray, she was raised and educated in Brookfield, where she attended schools in Brookfield and Randolph. She excelled in school, particularly in math and organization. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for Lamson's Hardware Store in Randolph. She also worked for her husband's photography business, KenRoy Studio in Windsor, until her husband's death in 1966. After moving back to Randolph, she worked at the Randolph Town Clerk's office, Sprague's Dairy, and as a secretary for the Superintendent of Schools from 1968 to 1976. A loving mother and wife, and a wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, baking, crossword puzzles, watching the Red Sox, bowling, square dancing, exercising at Curves, and spending girls' weekends with her daughters. A long-time member of Bethany Congregational Church in Randolph and Centre Congregational Church in Brattleboro, she was very involved at the church, including helping in the church office, baking pies, and helping with dinners and rummage sales. She was a member of the Eastern Star and AARP, and was a volunteer at the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital coffee shop, a volunteer for the blood bank, and spent 25 years square dancing with Green Mountain Squares. • Abby C. Tidd, 90, of Bellows Falls. Died March 10. Mother of Sandra Hebert of Hillsboro, N.H., Brenda Breslend of North Walpole, N.H., David Tidd of San Diego, Calif., and the late Donald Tidd. Sister of Park Chamberlin and his wife, Effie, of Townshend. The daughter of the late Alonzo Chamberlin and Eva Beebee Chamberlin, she was one of 11 children. She graduated from Leland & Gray Seminary in Townshend. She loved shooting hoops, reading the Bible and religious books and materials, and was always submitting letters to the editors of local newspapers. Memorial information: There will be a graveside service at a later date. She will be buried in the Chamberlin Family Plot in Townshend.
