Emmett Dunbar is the better choice for representative to the Vermont House. He is best situated to work on issues that are important to our district towns of Jamaica, Londonderry, Stratton, Weston, and Winhall in the counties of Bennington, Windham, and Windsor.
Although our towns in this district are dispersed, we share vital resources and have the same barriers to economic growth. As a small-business owner, Emmett has offered his ideas on how a rural lifestyle can survive in a global economy that will encourage young people to live and work in Vermont.
He knows how to grow the agricultural economy and appreciates the challenge of growing while adapting to a different climate for the future.
For one, climate change is here and cannot be ignored. During the forum on Oct 10 at the Flood Brook School, Emmett's opponent, Charles “Tim” Goodwin, questioned whether to blame climate change on human activity, saying “maybe it should be, maybe it shouldn't.”
You don't have to be a scientist to understand what the scientists are telling us.
We absolutely cannot ignore the impacts on our region from global warming. We need Emmett Dunbar in the legislature to work on the crucial decisions that will affect our working landscape.
