State Representative Mike Mrowicki now works with the Vermont Fatherhood Initiative, “a fledgling group of dedicated volunteers made up of parents, professionals and concerned citizens who believe fathers count and that responsible fathering is an essential part of healthy child development,” according to a 2011 press release. The story “Hungry people, fewer resources” [News, Sept. 19] affiliated him with his previous employer, Putney Family Services.
Dave Gale, identified in the same piece, says that his participation in an interview on FACT-TV did not result in a serious threat, as characterized in the story. An editing mistake resulted in that error.
The story also listed “10 to 15” as the number of homeless people confirmed to be living in and around Bellows Falls; Gale says this week that another source had pegged the number at 16, and while he conveyed that figure at one point, he personally estimates the actual number as “30 to 35 - maybe 40.” Social service agencies have routinely lamented the difficulty of counting homeless people accurately. The Commons should have attributed the estimates more precisely and made clearer the issue of the imprecise nature of identifying and counting homeless people in need.

Suzanne Rubinstein is coordinating the new Brattleboro chapter of the Young Shakespeare Players. Richard DiPrima and Anne DiPrima remain the founders and co-directors of the theater company in Madison, Wis. Owing to a production error, a caption to a photograph accompanying “Bringing the bard to Brattleboro” [Arts, Sept. 12] contained incorrect information; the story that it accompanied (and that it contradicted) is correct.
