Brattleboro Farmers' Market opens for the season May 5
BRATTLEBORO - The Brattleboro Farmers' Market opens for the 2012 season on Saturday, May 5.
The market is open rain or shine, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Western Avenue. The traditional celebration of spring - the Maypole dance - will be conducted by Andy Davis at 11 a.m. The Morris Dancers will perform at 2 p.m. Come with children, friends, family to enjoy this annual welcome of warm weather, good food, and community spirit.

No Gardener Left Behind Expo on May 11
BELLOWS FALLS - Post Oil Solutions will partner with the Bellows Falls Farmers' Market for its fourth Annual No Gardener Left Behind Expo.
The event is free and will be held on the first day of the Farmers' Market, Friday, May 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Waypoint Center.
The No Gardener Expo is intended to take one through the various stages of becoming food sufficient and food secure through a process that includes gardening, canning, storing, and cooking.
There will be a number of demonstrations and displays that will include seed starting, soil preparation, composting (including worm composting with kits for sale), self-watering containers, hoop houses, cold frames, grow lights, solar dehydrators (again, with kits for sale), mushroom tinctures, canning, and cooking demonstration. School gardens and community gardens will also be represented, as well as UVM Extension's Master Gardeners.
