BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Area Prevention Coalition (BAPC), in collaboration with the Vermont Department of Liquor Control (DLC), is co-sponsoring the DLC's Responsible Beverage Service Trainings.
There are two separate, three-hour trainings: one geared specifically to retailers who sell alcohol and tobacco, and the other for establishments that serve alcohol.
The next training opportunity for store clerks, cashiers, and managers will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. The next training opportunity for all restaurant, club, and hotel servers will take place on Thursday, March 22 from 1 to 4 p.m.
All staff and managers are encouraged to attend, and all participants will be eligible to win a door prize. The trainings will all take place at the Marlboro College Graduate Center in Brattleboro with no registration required; however, late attendees will not be admitted.
All employees who either sell or serve liquor are required to be trained every two years, either by the DLC or by their employers, using materials provided by the agency.
Statistics show that employees who receive their required trainings directly from the DLC, rather than in house, are less likely to fail a compliance check for selling tobacco or alcohol to minors.
