BMH 'Touch A Truck' set for Sept. 10
BRATTLEBORO - Bring an extra t-shirt for your son or daughter to this year's Touch A Truck fundraiser at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, because it promises to be the dirtiest one yet.
BMH is ordering three cubic yards of natural mulch for the trucks - and children - to play around in on Saturday, Sept. 10. That's approximately 2,200 pounds of wood chips which BMH will then use for landscaping.
More than 50 vehicles will converge in the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children ages 2-12 can climb in or on the trucks, talk to the drivers and get their picture taken. Vehicles include a fire truck, ambulance, dump truck, garbage truck, tree trimmer, paver, steamroller, tow truck, farm truck, police cruiser and motorcycles.
A raffle will be held to win a variety of prizes including a child size John Deere Jeep or a Thomas Transportation limousine ride to the Chelsea Royal for ice cream. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and will be available for purchase at the event.
Admission is $5 ($15 for families of three or more). Tickets can be purchased at the event or in advance online at www.bmhvt.org. The entire event this year is horn/siren free and the first 200 children will receive a free toy truck.
