BRATTLEBORO — Job-hunting is, even in the best of times, a lonely and frustrating process, and these are surely not the best of times. The single most important tool available to you as a job-seeker is a resume, a succinct and authoritative presentation of all that you have to offer a prospective employer or client.
Join Write Action for a short, focused class where participants will have a chance to review the essentials of resume preparation - content, organization, formatting - and their companion cover letters, and get your own efforts workshopped in a safe and stress-free setting by a panel of peers and professionals.
This class on effective resume writing and creative job-hunting will meet on two Mondays, July 25 and Aug, 1, from 6-8:30 pm, at the Marlboro Tech Center.
Pre-registration is required. Be prepared to submit a copy of your current resume (or a list of your employment and educational history if you haven't yet written a resume) to the instructor no later than July 22 by emailing it to [email protected] (These submissions will be used to help the instructor adjust the course materials to best meet the needs of the participants.)
A fee of $45 is charged to cover expenses, but no one will be turned away for lack of ability to pay.
The class will be led by Ellen Williams, a professional freelance writer, editor, and teacher, and someone who has written more than her fair share of resumes. To register for the class, contact Write Action at [email protected].
